Had a mini-experience this morning. Rocky was itchy so I rubbed his fur down with coconut oil before a bath. It helps his skin, seemed reasonable enough. Stick him in the tub to bathe out all the oil and low behold I find a flea.
I continue bathing him and find all of them are dead. How bizarre. He was a bit late on his flea stuff but only a couple days, odd they'd all be dead- then I began to wonder... The coconut oil?
A quick Google search proved correct- the coconut oil had murderized the skin chomppers! My Doxie was saaaaved!
Felt the need to share for those that have doggies with dry skin, fleas, or allergies to flea stuff. he's chewing down a treat while he dries off. Only one flea was alive when I pulled it off him, sat it near some coconut oil and it died almost immediately.
