cockatoo trouble pooping after laying an egg

Hello everyone,

My cockatoo layed an egg 3 days ago and her first dropping had blood in it after that her droppings were normal but the way she pooped wasn't..

I took her to the vet and he checked her opening by hand and had an x ray and he told me everything was fine.

However, she poops differently now, she pushes down more and she sometimes makes a little noise similer to the one she makes while stretching .
I don't know how to describe this one but I'll try my best, normal birds poop and it would just come out held together right? Well she sometimes has a little 'string' of poop (the clear, white part) come out immediately after the normal poop
I looked at the opening once immediately after she pooped and it was 'contracting' like it would when she is 'horny'.

Additional information:
The feathers around the openning are clean, she eats
and plays normally, her droppings are normal.
She doesn't have a mate and she didn't sit on the egg at all and it is her second egg.
Her age is unknown.

I apologize if I am using any bad terms, I am not a native English speaker.

I live in saudi arabia and although we have good vets for cats and dogs, we dont have any specialized avian vets

Don't worry, your english is perfectly fine!

I would take her to another vet to double-check and confirm that everything is okay with her. Your vet right now may be thinking that she's okay but another could potentially point out something wrong. Birds are great at hiding any illness until it's too late to present themselves as less of a target to predators and so they won't be singled out and left alone.

If you live in Saudi Arabia, you should have some falcon vets? Maybe you could take her to a falcon vet, if there are any in your area.

Didn't think about that! I will take her to the falcon center today, they have an experienced vet there and I will also take her to another vet to get a second opinion.

It doesn't sound like internal damage to me, but it may be a bacterial infection. Definitely get the vet to do a faecal test, to see if there is any infection.

So I just got back from the vet and he told me the egg that she layed was probably bound in there for a while therefore the bloody feces and the stretched opening..
he also looked at the x-ray and found eggs/follicles so we will have an x-ray next week to see what happens
since she had trouble passing this egg his biggest concern is egg binding so we will be having regualr check ups.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
I have a 4 year old female macaw and I am already dreading her starting to lay eggs in the future, so stressful!

Make sure to add some extra calcium to help prevent and to help out with the egg binding issue. There are some powdered ones you might be able to find at a pet store. If not, you can bring home a lot home and crush them until they're powder.
From my understanding, larger birds can ingest the sharp parts from the cuttle bone (the actual thing).
