you know buying these guys toys is such an expense that I'm always looking for in cage toys he can't destroy and I found this new one today when I went by the bird shop the bottom comes off and you can refill it. the only change I will make to it is add a nyloc nut to it. also gives me something to do with the 2 boxes of toy parts from tore up toys.

Right now I have a plastic cup on the play top that is used for the chewed off blocks that have life left...which I find hilarious because Willow WILL put them back "where they go" more often that not.

Sammy tears all wood into little pieces in either back corner
and he always fills one of his food dishes with wood the back corners look to me
he is trying to build a nest to attract a female. he really don't care if it is on a toy or not
I can just open the door throw in a couple of chunks of 2x4 and one by one he will carry them to one of the back corners and climb up the cage and tear em down. cool learning their playing habits. see the blocks on the toy on the back of the cage see how the second one down has a skinny sliver of wood between it and the 3rd. well he lives for the little wood between the big wood and when it is gone he is pretty much done with the toy. I have some dragon wood limbs to cut more skinny ones and when I put in back together again it will take him a few months to get them out again. have found making toys is a lot cheaper then buying them.

I was more or less going that route for a bit, but Willow prefers the colored, skinnier pieces (easier to destroy) and frankly I've been to inept at getting large quantities of safe dye. That said, when she's in the mood, Willow will do the exact same thing with a 2x4 chunk, just sit there and turn it into splinters.

Can you use food colouring, would it even work? :)

I was gonna get one of those for Bambams cage yesterday but ended up buying 3 things for Spezi. With the sale she had going I shoulda.just got it but he's not even home yet so I'm trying to reign in my buying until he is almost ready.
He's starting to wean now so hopefully he'll be home in the next few months.
This was a good deal for $20 then 25% off. I hope she doesn't sell out if them before I get back there!

hi it was so nice to meet you yesterday and that BamBam sure is a firecracker, good looking fella. is he down to 2 feedings a day ? if so your wait should not be much longer. I will cross my fingers for you to cause I know the waiting game feeling better part of a year for Maxx but I am so happy with the outcome of the abundance weaning that I would recommend it to all.
