Today I got home from a party and Bella was dead on the bottom of the cage. She was supposedly 5 months old when I got her, which would make her about 6 years old, maximum. I can't believe this happened. Of my three birds, I would have never guessed that she would have died next. Bandit is really old and has a huge abdominal tumor and Chico was acting strangely about a month and a half ago for a few days. I have no clue what happened to her. I cleaned the cage, dumped the food and water, cleaned the dishes, and got new food and water for Chico but if it was contagious I am sure he has it by now.

Rest in Peace Bella.:grey:

Did you feel her abdomen??? She might be egg binding....That happens quickly and unexpected. Sorry about your loss of Bella!!! :(

I didn't feel it but it looked flat. "She" never laid an egg so we aren't even sure that she was a girl. Her markings suggested that she was. I'm just completely shocked.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

You would have to feel for the egg, it would look swollen somewhat. Unless the egg busted inside of her as that could be a cause as well.

I am sorry for your loss. it's such a shock to find one on the bottom of the cage unexpectedly.

please take comfort in knowing that Bella was loved very much.

Very sorry to hear about Bella. It is hard when you lose one so unexpectedly. RIP

fly free, baby bella!
im sorry for that sweetheart
dont worry, she knows where home is, she'll love you forever vicky, i promise!

Sorry to hear of the loss of (another) Bella.

I am so sorry for your loss:(

I am so sorry to hear that. :(

A www, RIP Bella :( Wherever she was, let's all hope she's in a better place....

This is mostly caused by egg binding. I was lucky the 2nd time my 'tiel laid an egg she didn't have an egg binding.
