Closed on Wednesdays???

I noticed that three of my local privately owned bird supply store are closed on Wednesdays. I'm beginning to think this is typical of the smaller avian stores; anyone have any explanation as to why??? Or if they've noticed the same thing too??

Maybe it's traffic flow? Middle of the week, everyone's at school or work?

Smaller, independent businesses here are usually closed on Sundays & Mondays. I understand when businesses are closed on Sunday, but as a customer it's very inconvenient for me as sometimes it's the only day I can make it. And if I take a Monday off, well, that's no help either.
