Last night, before bed, Clifford came out to explore. I was sitting on the chair and he came over to preen my hair a bit and then went to snuggle under the pillow. I kept hearing him say peek a boo, so I looked at him to see his little head looking backwards at me and all puffed up. He was just talking away. I reached down and you would not believe it if you werent there but he actually let me pet him!!!! He purred and muttered and puffed up some more and let me pet him for a long while. When I stopped he came over and crawlen onto my lap for more pets. He fell asleep shortly after that.
He still won't let me pick him up, and he still wont step up, but this is better than him running away and screaming!
Then this morning when I woke him up for breakfast, I had my nose against his cage talking to him and he came up and put his beak against my nose and said "pretty bird". I'm glad he thinks his momma is pretty <3

Brilliant! You're making progress then which is great. Glad to hear he's getting more comfortable with you. I wish Merlin would say peekaboo or pretty bird, just sounds so adorable! :)

I tought him peek-a-boo so he will say that when he wants to know where I am instead of screaming. He still screams. But he will hide behind a toy and when I say "Clifford where are you?" He will come out from behind the toy and say "peek a boo". It's cute, but I wish he would say "where are you" instead of screaming to call to me....

The progress is awesome. I would almost bet that by the time your baby grey comes home he will really warm up. If he sees the baby interacting with you with so much trust it might really convince him that you are ok afterall.
