hi there everyone!
i just got a bunch of used cage supplies, and there is a LOT of poop buildup on a few perches, one perch is big wood dowel, one is a cement/sand(??) one.
anyhow, i can i put these in the dishwasher?

You can, although I would throw the dowel one out.

Mattroma is right, while you can wash the perches in your dishwasher, some diseases may still survive a dishwasher and since you can pick up new wooden dowels at Home Depot, Lowes or most other home improvement stores relatively inexpensively, diameters up to an inch and a quarter and up to 48" in length, it's really not worth taking a chance...same goes for used toys.....

If you must keep the dowel perches, soak them in a 10% solution of bleach & water for at least 10 minutes, rinse extremely well. Dry in the sun or better yet if they will fit in the oven at 250* for 15 minutes.
