Dora - Green-rumped parrotlet ♀
For those of you who aren't aware(lol), Christmas is quickly approaching it seems. Considering this, me and Tom usually visit my parents for a couple of nights(most) to celebrate. This year, we have Dora. It is a BUSY household and if I were to bring her, I imagine it would be difficult for us to interact like usual - which is expected, being in a different environment. It will be Christmas! Is it worth me bringing her? In future, I would like to bring her with me(on many journeys) but this seems like a big step...

Wow...

Maybe, if you do bring her, you could make sure you have a low stress, sheltered area where her cage stays, so that she's not overwhelmed, and you can have quality quiet time?

Unless you have a safe, trusted place to board her (or a house-sitter or such), I'm inclined to say 'take her'... but with plenty of preparations...

if she is alone for a lot longer than she is used to, take her along if you have a travel cage etc.

A parrot is for life, not just for xmas ;)

Just something to consider if you take her.
Please be sure that your parents and others are aware of the dangers of poisonus foods, toxic Christmas decorations, cleaning chemicals, and any baking done during the holidays does not include Teflon bake ware. Fumes from cleaning products and heated Teflon can kill your feathered friend.

Kelly, myself and Arika wish you and your family the best and a very safe holiday.
