Ivy: Canary-winged Parakeet (Brotogeris versicolurus)
Ivy often does this after headrubs. She brings one foot up and holds her chin/under her beak, sitting very still. Looks like she is thinking really hard about something, haha! What is she doing!?

Being cute lol. Idk, but my macaw does the same thing, but usually while scratching her head.

Agreed, just looking cute..... this is one of my favorite "bird poses" :D

I think it's more like a massage kind of thing. Rosie does it all the time on the side of her face and she closes her eyes and opens/closes her beak like she really enjoys it!
But it's also darn cute!:p

Haha yes I gotta agree with the "looking cute" assessment! Interesting that others' birds do this as well. Mystery solved!

Yeah, since they can't use their beak to preen their head they have to get some help from Mr.Hand. My dad like to think of it like "scratch me here"

While I like to think of it like , "just another day pondering the true meaning of life..."
