Parrots
Kizzy - (most likely) female blue-fronted Amazon, hatched on May 1, 2017; Gabby - Male double yellowheaded Amazon, hatched, April 1, 1986; died February 22, 2017
I took this video the other day. While I was actually filming, I couldn't go into "teaching" mode because I didn't know how long the snake would stick around. I used "smell" as shorthand for the snake's tongue and Jacobson's organ and the word "hear" for how it senses vibrations, etc. I also left out info on heat-sensing pits, etc. There's so much to learn about these fascinating animals. I've always liked reptiles, even venomous ones.

There is some mild swearing, so beware if that sort of thing bothers you.

Am I wrong, or has there been resurgence of rattlesnakes in areas of the Country that have not seen them for a very long time?

So now you are an official rattlesnake tracker - Congratulations!

Awesome video, something I could never do. I am deathly afraid of snakes though they are beautiful and move in such fluid manner.

Look, I'm a student of ecology with a healthy respect for all creatures in nature, even reptiles. But I HATE snakes, and not a fan of being around reptiles in general. I must admit though, the way you described him, narrated him, and portrayed him, gave me a slightly healthier perspective. I was rapt the whole video.

Thank you for this.

WOW!
They ARE amazing, aren't they?
Somebody is talking to me currently about doing a pet portrait of a snake. It's a Corn Snake... lots of pretty golds, browns, and creams. I hope he follows through. It would be interesting!

P.S.
You are brave, Lady!!!!!
