"Cheap Toys" ?????

I wouldn't want to do this all the time; but, someone just mentioned putting a phoebook in the cage of a Macaw that loves to rip up paper. How about drilling a hole through the corner by the binding and hanging the phonebook from the top of the cage.

It would make one heck of a mess, but, I'd bet it would be a blast for a parrot!

The added benefit would be a new matting of poop-collecting paper at the bottom of the cage! :D
 
I've seen many pictures of this being done. It does make a good toy. People go to used book stores (getting harder to find these days) and purchase books to make toys out of them.

Actually, we just moved and my wife wants me to "dispose" of a bunch of old books. She never said what method I was supposed to use! :54:
 
I actually"hang" mine between the top bars just because I don't want him to get to the glue
 
Ya I stick a few pages through each slit in the bars too. Works great and Pokie loves it!

Also, if you take the metal off of clothespins, they are perfect for shredding

I have done this for Mishka.... he had hours of entertainment
The mess was ENORMOUS but so worth it


Getting the next phone book ready for birdie destruction :D
