RIP Charlie, Green Cheek Conure,
Lelu, parrotlet and
Poe the budgie.
We lost our beautiful, spunky 6 year old green cheek, Charlie, just before Easter this year. He was being looked after and a dog was accidentally let into the house. It was awful for everyone as he was well loved by everyone in my family (and our social circle), especially for my parents as he was attacked in front of them. He was an entertaining clown, very charming, very snuggly and very stubborn! He was a rescue that became very sick after we first adopted him and then we worked very hard for a long time to get his behaviour settled. He was in good health although he chewed his feathers. We miss him every day as he was a great fit for our family and full of charm. RIP Charlie bird.

Its nice to have a community of other bird owners who understand the terrible hole these little guys leave in our hearts when they go.

Deepest condolences for your loss of beautiful Charlie. I'm so sorry, you must miss the little guy something terrible, it sounds like he was a treasured family member. Healing thoughts to you and Charlie's friends and family.

Fly free, Charlie! You will be remembered.

I'm very sorry you have lost Charlie. All of the qualities you described are why these little guys form such close bonds with our hearts. I hope over time the wonderful memories will be more dominant than grief.

I know you must be missing Charlie so badly :( Remember he had love and a good home and knew much happiness with you.

Thank-you everyone for your words! It means a lot. :)

I am so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. Many, perhaps most, of us here have been through the loss of one of our little feathered treasures, and we truly feel your loss. Even though I'm a 60+ man, I still tear up at hearing of the loss of others' birds, because I know how painful it truly is.

Fly free, Charlie. You were deeply, desperately loved.

mh434 ...a person is never to old to shed a tear. I do the same thing every time..especially when it comes to animals.

So very sorry for your loss.

So Sorry for your loss...Fly Free Charlie...your Charlie was much loved in life and now from Rainbow Bridge he will remember that Love and shower all of you with Blessings. May you find the gift of consolation as you journey through the pain of loss

Same here. I feel for your loss. When my Maxie passed, I was a basket case, still get wet in the eyes. He passed way too early, and I can't look at his grave marker in our back yard with wondering what the rest of our lives would have been like with him. Salty is wonderful parrot, and totally different personality from Maxie's. They might have been best friends, or worst enemies. But that's the only way I would consider having MBS.

Charlie looked like he was a real sweetie.

Indeed, fly free!
I acknowledge that I say this to everyone I meet who is experiencing a loss. It was in a sympathy card when my Mother passed, and it stuck with me. The message was... "May the pain of losing her soon be outweighed by the joy of having had her in your life."
Patagonian hugzszzs.
