Changes in routine, refuses treats...

We have had a ton of changes to our normal routine the past few weeks. The kids are remote learning, my husband has been working from home for 4 weeks now, this week I started working from home. I noticed that the past few days Precious has refused all treats, even his favorite treat. This started on Wednesday, I started working from home on Tuesday. I cannot take him to a vet, they are all closed, even the emergency vet will not see him unless he’s knocking on deaths door, as in unconscious or bleeding profusely, or something equally bad or worse. I’m tempted to claim an injury just to get him in the door, but I know if I do that they won’t listen to a word I say.

His behavior is normal (but clingy), other than refusing treats.

He’s been very clingy to me specifically, which isn’t a surprise he would normally rather be with me, but mixed with his refusal of treats I’m a bit worried...

Could this be a reaction to the several changes in our schedules? To much change, to fast sort of thing?

I did leave a message at the vets office, but I have no clue when they will get back to me...

The budgies on the other hand seem to be thriving, and love all the extra attention!

No question that the recent changes have been huge for him!
Very likely that this is the cause of his change in response.

Try to build a bit on normal back into his life like a nap time for the kids or safe outside time.

Sorry that your Thread got missed, can happen on Weekends, plus a special weekend like this one!

Multiple changes are likely causing behavioral changes with Precious. Refusal to take treats is an odd one, though. Do you have a sensitive scale measuring grams? One of the best diagnostic tools is weighing every few days at roughly the same time - preferably after a morning poop and before eating. An early warning to potential health problems, though I don't suggest this is the cause. Might try offering different treats in case he's getting a bit bored?
