1/2 cup of honey
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of chunky peanut butter
2 cups of Cheerios
1/2 cup of sultanas
1/2 cup of chopped mixed nuts
METHOD:-
1. Bring the honey and sugar to the boil in a large saucepan, stirring continuously
2. Once all the sugar has dissolved remove the pan from the heat and add the peanut butter
3. Stir until smooth (briefly return to the heat if necessary)
4. Add the Cheerios, sultanas and nuts and stir until well combined.
5. Immediately after conbining all ingredients place small clusters of the mix on a lightly greased greaseproof paper, using a teaspoon
6. Set aside to cool.

These clusters will keep for ages in an airtight container.
The sugar/honey mix can set like cement so pour hot water in your saucepan and return it to a low heat to dissolve all sticky ingredients.

Instead of the Cheerios you could add cornflakes, rice snaps, seed

For large birds you can wrap the mixture round a lolly (popsicle) stick.

All of these recipes have come from my Parrots mag, I have tried them all and added different ingredients, for my CAG,

How bout raisons? Think I'll have to go back to the American English translations. Guess they are like shriveled up prunes.

I didn't know either, so I googled it...:08: According to Ochef dot com....they are golden raisians.

That's funny, this is the second time that this issue has been discussed in this forum ... BUT THIS SOUNDS like great food, will most assuredly try this one for Hamlet.

Thats exactly what I first thought of when I saw this :D

Done some of these for Bucc a while ago, and he loved them, I've since done some and added different ingredients, I swapped a cup of cherios for a cup of pellets, and still he loved em. Now I cook a whole batch of them up and they all get some. Works wonders as a training treat. :D

I made those for Sisqo a few months ago. He enjoyed them. Although my sister ate most of them

I'm with your sister....the birds would have to fend for themselves...lol. I order some colored popcycle sticks, I am going to make this and wrap it around the stick and hang the stick from the cage. That is if I don't eat it all myself..lol
