1/2 cup of honey
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of chunky peanut butter
2 cups of Cheerios
1/2 cup of sultanas
1/2 cup of chopped mixed nuts
METHOD:-
1. Bring the honey and sugar to the boil in a large saucepan, stirring continuously
2. Once all the sugar has dissolved remove the pan from the heat and add the peanut butter
3. Stir until smooth (briefly return to the heat if necessary)
4. Add the Cheerios, sultanas and nuts and stir until well combined.
5. Immediately after conbining all ingredients place small clusters of the mix on a lightly greased greaseproof paper, using a teaspoon
6. Set aside to cool.
These clusters will keep for ages in an airtight container.
The sugar/honey mix can set like cement so pour hot water in your saucepan and return it to a low heat to dissolve all sticky ingredients.
Instead of the Cheerios you could add cornflakes, rice snaps, seed
For large birds you can wrap the mixture round a lolly (popsicle) stick.
All of these recipes have come from my Parrots mag, I have tried them all and added different ingredients, for my CAG,
