Sootie- Yellow-sided GCC
Sootie has been with is a month now, and I've hardly uploaded any pictures or videos of her! She is such a delight, i absolutely love her bones. Was so anxious when I first got her but I am so, so glad I bought her. Now I don't know what I'd do without my little buddy :)

Here she is on day one, a bit perturbed at being taken from her home with her brothers and sisters!

Then after the first few days. Warming to us with the help of lots of treats ;)

And just half an hour ago, proudly wearing her flight harness for the first time!

Wow, Sootie is a really pretty GCC. Lots of red on her. That's so nice she already learned to wear a harness! Thanks for sharing pics of the new love of your life :)

Sootie is beautiful! She also looks like quite the character, just full of personality:)
Loved the pics, keep them coming please:)

Haha, she does look mad in the first pic! If looks could kill...wow! LOL

Congratulations on the harness!

Ok just a couple from our first harnessed adventure in the sun today and then I'll stop! She kept preening the harness and occasionally pulling on it but was generally good. She's a good girl and loves climbing trees and going for walks outside! I can't wait until she's fully flighted again and can fly out on it!

Hey Sootie! Does your aviator fit you well? I'm thinking about getting one for my bird Bella. She isn't a baby but is the most trusting bird I have.

Sootie weighs about 65g and the petite flight harness (the smallest they have) is recommended for birds 75-110g. It is a little big on her around the shoulders, so she can get her beak under it and pull it up. It also weighs a little heavy on her, so she gets annoyed if the leash is hanging down (but if i hold the leash above her, so the weight is off her, she doesn't mind). Apart from that, it is fine and when she's distracted she forgets about it!

Was 27 degrees in Vancouver today so we took a trip to the park to read and play! For the first time Sootie garnered quite a bit of attention from passers-by. She was passed from hand to hand for cuddles with everyone with the best temperament ever. I was very proud of my good social baby today!

Great to hear Sootie had a good time and was a model citizen with everyone :) Wow, 27 degrees I couldn't even imagine... Here in this part of Southern California it's in the 90's this week and not even summer yet ugh I hate this heat!

oh my god, give me more heat! I love the hot weather!

Though I love the summer, I HATE heat. It gets to be over 100 here too... You'd like that? Not as bad as some parts of the southwestern US, but still way too hot for me!

My body can tolerate it a little too cold MUCH easier than even a little too hot.

I said 'a little' cold... but 27 degrees sounds just crazy, and you were implying that it was now warm enough to go to the park with Sootie haha! Give me low 70's

Oh yes, I knew you use Celsius in Canada... I just wasn't thinking, and went on auto-pilot! You must have been loving the weather then!
