Hey Everyone.
So yesterday I drove 4 hours away to rescue a Red Throated Conure named Casper. He is 1 year and 2 months old, and a beautiful bird. He is my first larger parrot, as I've only had budgies in the past.
Right now he's extremely aggressive and loud, but his previous owner told me that he was snuggly and quiet and so well behaved at her house, so I'm really hoping it's all just the change of scenery and adjustments that are flaring him up right now. He has been passed around 4 times in his short time on this Earth, and I'm happy to give him a good home for the rest of his life.
I also own a Budgie, a Sulcata Tortoise and a Ball Python (I've moved the Python out of my bedroom where Casper is now so as to not spook him, and the Budgie is also in a different room).
Here are some pictures of Casper on our first day/morning together:
Here he is posted up on his perch.
Casper preening himself.
Morning already? Casper yawning.
I'll be posting more as we move on in our relationship but enjoy those for now!
