Sunshine hates being in a carrier. But I need to get him or her use to one. I'm not a fan of being free in the car and especially when he or she gets car sick once in a while. Once put in the carrier it's bloody murder screaming time. But I know safety for all of us is a must. Any suggestions on how to help this become overcome?

You don't mention what sized carrier (s)he must use, whether the carrier is positioned so that (s)he can see what's going on around him/her.....

It sounds like you need to invest some major time in acclimating Sunshine to the carrier...and...I'm sure that's not going to be a weekend project and might even require a different type of carrier....

Do you have problems with your other 'toos traveling? Seven upset, screaming 'toos must be a little unnerving, not to mention the stress level they will have to endure.....

Good luck.....

Recently I had a similar problem with a friend & his Amazon. I told him to put the bird in the carrier, for a few minutes, very often, to get it used to it. I put my birds in a carrier when I'm cleaning their cage, or now & then for no reason. Only for a few minutes. And talk to it to reassure it that it's okay. Eventually the bird realizes that nothing bad happens. Do not only put it in the carrier to go to the vets, because it will associate the carrier with being poked & prodded by strangers. For my rescue work, I was given a new carrier by a generous benefactor. I am in this process of getting my birds used to this new one, the same way as I've described. Also, leave it out where the bird can see it, and has to pass it occasionally. It takes time & effort & patience, but, having a bird not scared of a carrier, is worth the work. Good luck.

Oh wow, I've never seen those before. I have a couple of medium dog carriers for my birds. I ve set up a large natural wood perch in each so that the birds can get grip whilst moving with the option of a soft towel on the floor if they prefer. But those ones look really good. :)

How about a special treat when in the crate, something he really likes and can only have some when in the crate. When Remington gets too loud in the car I civet the create with a towel
