2 Green Cheek Conures - Dunny and Itsy
Hi, Dunny is a 4-year-old green cheek. And when I take him in the car he gets car sick. He throws-up the whole time, in his cage. No deodorizers are in my car. It is an SUV so it rides fairly smoothly. I tried covering him. A long trip was the worse, I hate to have him sick the whole time.
How bad is his getting sick?
Are there any remedies?
I heard that engine vibrations may be the culprit. If so, has anyone tried their car sick bird in an EV? (Electric vehicle.)

Any help is appreciated.

Other people may he able to weigh in more but I dont think it's dangerous and I dont think theres much that can be done about it. My ekkie gets carsick and I just make sure to keep car rides short and supply lots of water and food afterwards.

You can try elevating the cage or carrier so he can see out the windows. I know Salty gets freaked out f he cant see the trees and cars. Also, if traveling by night, I have to keep a courtesy light on inside the car, as the bright lights whizzing past really gets him upset - parrots have terrible night vision.

My Ta-dah gets very car sick and vomits...:(
I haven't found anything that helped.
