Can turkeys fly

While visiting my mother a couple days ago i heard some thumping on her roof. Went out to investigate and found a flock of Turkey's launching into the trees from her roof. I took a video and went back inside to show her. She said they have been doing it every day for the past couple months.
Wow, they can really fly! I hadn't ever seen one fly before, I bet they make a loud thump when landing on the roof.
Take care not to set them into flight especially if there are a size able gathering of them! This time of year they can gather is flocks of several hundred birds!
