I Sun Conure who hatched March 23. 2004. I adopted her on May 8, 2005
I had a Quaker Parrot named Nikki who lived for 19 years
I grew up with Budgerigars named Screech, Zoar and Blue Baby
My Sun has been like Jekyll and Hyde for the past week. One minute she wants to hang with me and be with me and the next minute she is biting. Today, I moved the cage to a different location which seemed to calm her down some. She was spending time on the bottom of the cage chewing the food cups and the grate, weird behavior.

So my questions are:

1. Can bird be hormonal during early May? (it's not early spring now)
2. Can hormones trigger mood swings? I know they can trigger bites, screams, and stuff but my Sun was flipping back in forth in a matter of minutes.

1,000% they can.
Just checking. I feel like I am living with someone with severe PMS. I ended up moving the cage and setting up a sleep cage. If this doesn’t calm her down I don’t know what to do.

Crap I bought a sun and sent out DNA today to be sexed, I hope I don't have to go through the terrible 2s again.
