Hi ,

I put Jack to bed about 1 hour ago and we can hear him having conversations. He is calling the cat and chatting away. Just wondering if he could be talking in his sleep ?
I dont want to lift his cover and disturb him, just have no idea if they can or not ??
Thanks

I dont have an Ekkie, but my conures sure do talk in their sleep. Well, cluck, whistle, and make all sorts of other noises

Robyn, I would have to say no they don't really talk in their sleep. However i do know the slightest little noise in my house will get my birds talking through the night. I think they never loose that wild instinct to protect themselves & if they hear us move in our beds or get up at all through the night I can expect a hello or what are you doing. The babies are the best at it we get up rather early in the morning like around 4 or 5 AM as soon as that kettle is switched on those babies are making all sorts of baby noises. Some species keep me awake at night with their constant peeps. Conures are the best at it.

Its also funny with the aviary birds when it rains they all start singing. I think they kind of sleep with one eye opened & are aware of everything that is going on around them.
