Can budgies heal from being expose to vaping?

So my mom and brother vape in the house regularly or at least used too my mom would even cape in the same room as my bird daily. When I realized it could had deadly affects I told them they had to stop. My mom stopped and I think I finally got my brother to stop but what about my budgie? He was exposed for about 9 months except half of that time cause I was also at my dads house. I don't think I can reverse the effects it's had on his health but is there any chance he can heal? I haven't noticed any change in his personality or anything but I'm worried about future internal problems.

While this is not at all good and could have potentially killed your Budgie due to the PG in most e-juices, along with the scents, there's not anything that you can do now except to not ever expose your Budgie or any other pet bird you may have in the future to ANY fumes, smokes, scents, odors, vapors, etc. Birds are extremely sensitive to any and all of these things due to their very unique and intricate Respiratory System that includes Air Sacs, and many of these can kill your bird instantly. This all being said, what you need to know is that with birds, exposing them to these scents/fumes/smokes etc. does not usually cause "cumulative issues", meaning long-term damage as you are worried about, rather they instantly kill the bird on the spot as soon as they breath them in. So you usually will not get a chance to "reverse the effects" of your bird breathing these things in, because typically your bird will die directly after breathing them in. So you need to make 100% certain that you do not allow your bird to EVER be exposed to any type of scents, smokes, fumes, vapors, cleaners, etc. ever again, because it's usually one time and they're gone...

****While we're on the subject, is your Budgie exposed to any other fumes/smokes/scented products/cleaners inside of your home? I don't know if you know this, but if you own a bird, you cannot EVER use any scented products anywhere in the home such as candles, sprays, incense, scents you plug-in, wax burners, oil burners, etc.; Nor can your mom/dad or you use ANY scented cleaners or cleaners that emit harmful fumes, such as Bleach, any type of normal/regular bathroom cleaners, kitchen cleaners, all-purpose cleaners, dusting spray, carpet spray or powder, etc. Your family must use only White Vinegar and hot water, or the only store-bought cleaners they use must only be all-natural, unscented, plant-based cleaners.

****You also can not ever, ever, ever use any pots, pans, or other bakeware that has a Teflon non-stick coating on it, or any non-stick coating that contains Fluorinated Compounds (typically this means all pots and pans that have a black-colored non-stick coating on them)...If your mom/dad cook with pots or pans that have these types of non-stick coatings on them and they reach a certain temperature, and your bird is ANYWHERE inside the house, doesn't matter what floor or behind a closed door, etc., what happens is these coatings off-gas and emit 100% lethal, fatal fumes that you cannot see or smell, and they will literally kill your bird instantly. I'm not exaggerating, once a bird inhales just a whiff of these fumes from these types of pots/pans, there is nothing that you can do, they will die within seconds of breathing them in.

The only pots and pans that your mom/dad can use are either Ceramic non-stick pots and pans, Cast-Iron pots and pans, Stainless steel pots and pans, or REAL copper pots and pans (not copper-plated)...That's it...The most-commonly used pots and pans for bird owners are the Ceramic non-stick ones, they are very common, and they typically have a white-colored non-stick coating on them, rather than the lethal black-colored ones that most pots and pans used to be...And just because it hasn't happened yet if you mom/dad does use these types of pots/pans doesn't mean anything other than they have not reached a high enough temperature to cause the release of the toxic, lethal fumes. It will happen eventually, it always does.

So you need to have a long talk with first your brother, if he's still vaping around your bird, as the PG in most e-juices/vape cartridges is very toxic to birds, so he needs to know this and take it very seriously. Then you need to go and have a conversation with both of your parents about the type of pots and pans they cook with, if they have a black-colored coating on them, then they are most-likely lethal and need to be replaced immediately...And getting people to stop using household cleaners, candles, and other scented items is always a problem, but if so, you should not have any birds living in your home.

EllenD is correct...Although that is not to say that just because they didn't die that the vaping was harmless. I user just posted about birds who were killed by Teflon and her husband had apparently cooked with this pan before without any issues...nevertheless, they did eventually succumb to the fumes.

My point is, do not allow them to continue.

And I didn't get my education "on the internet", I got my master's degree in Animal Health Science at Penn State University, and my BS in Health Science at Lock Have University of PA. So I'd love to know what this comment was supposed to mean...

It's everyone's own choice, and if you want to expose your birds to cleaners, candles, incense, or Teflon/Fluorinated Compounds then that's your choice, but please don't give a young, new member reaching out for help on a topic the impression that it's okay to expose their birds to any of things that I listed in my above post, because they deserve to be educated on the topic and to keep their birds safe.

Most E-Juices contain at least a small percentage of PG, or Propylene Glycol in addition to the Vegetable Glycol, because the PG is what carries/holds the flavor...PG is terrible for people too, and that's exactly the reason that most E-Juice companies are trying to develop PG-free E-Juices that are still flavorful...

As someone who has smoked for 20 years and has been vaping for a good 10 years and has spent a fortune on ModBoxes and Juices, yes, vaping is much less harmful for you than smoking is, that's a no-brainer...However, the effects of us breathing-in Propylene Glycol for years has yet to be determined, but it is a known Carcinogen, so chances are....
