RIP Hugo (African Brown Headed Parrot) 2 years old, lil Rosie May (Lovebird)
Please can someone help me. It is pouring with rain here - yippeee!!!! Only problem is that there are two lil budgies that need my help. They are in the box in a friends aviary and the mom isnt very motherly. If they survive tonight I want to try and handrear them. They are about 1 week old. Can anyone please help me with advice ASAP. I know that you use formula and a dropper but thats all. What should I do?

We wish you good luck with this. Hand feeding chicks is a 24/7 job and that is about all I know on this subject.

Thanks gals....lets hold thumbs that the lil fellas have lasted the night...I have all the respect in the world for breeders who handrear our parrots for us - I salute you all!!!!!!!The info on the net had my head spinning...lol. Will keep you posted, not sure what Im going to do with the lil fellas if they make it - Hugo will NOT be pleased - haha

It always makes me so happy to see someone helping a bird in need...

I can't say anything to help really, sorry. Just keep us posted! I'd like to hear how it turns out. :)

Give them egg food to get them trough them night, and in the morning give them breeding food.

Make sure the egg food isnt too dry!
