I am in love with both and would love to see what peoples opinions are on them. I love the playfulness of the caique, yet the adorableness of a ringneck talking Just makes me smile for days. I guess I'm concerned that a Irn wouldn't be a affectionate bird and want to be petted or scratched. Yet a caique wouldn't have the same speaking ability. Which is louder when screaming? Which bird bites harder? Do either draw blood? Any experiences or opinions would be appreciated!!!!
Thanks for your time

If you are worried about loudness, biting, drawing blood then you may not want a bird...

But both have there perks and are great caiques are amazing devils that are very active in your life, they have great talking abilities sometimes and are very intuitive to learning and so on.

Indian ring necks are good talkers sometimes, very friendly, easy to learn, so on both are about the same but a caique is more of a problem maker at times.

No matter what bird you get it is a guarantee it will talk and if you own a bird you will get bit no matter what happens... I've owned birds for years and still have yet to find a bird that will never but me, unless it was a stuffed one.

Everything said is true.

Caiques are awesome little things, but extremely strong willed. If they get angry and want to bite you then you need to get your hand out the way. They have an extremely powerful bite for a small bird, coupled with their strong will it can be difficult at times. Good training is essential. My caique would be more that capable of going down to the bone on my fingers no problem if given the chance, but that isn't to dissimilar to every other bird out there...trick is to know when you're going to get nailed :).

Saying that, i would not want to be bitten by a ringneck either... so learning your birds looks and temper is important.

1st I want to say thank you for responding, I appreciate any and all input!
To answer, I have owned birds before (Cockatoo for awhile, cockatiels and a sun conure) so I am aware that they can be loud and bite. I was just asking for a comparison between them. If youve owned a conure before then you know what that scream is like, and Im not necessarily looking for a bird that doesnt scream, just which isnt as piercing. Since all birds like to scream when us owners leave the room I would like to understand how bad each ones is. The same with biting, I am not afraid to be bitten I just want to know what I'll be getting into. Drawing blood in a bad way, or possibly to the bone is not something I wouldnt look forward to. I can imagine that caiques are affectionate birds, I am just not certain if IRNs are as well since some people say they are birds that dont like to be petted much. I am trying not to just consider a bird on wanting one that talks, although that would be utterly awesome, I know that caiques are very smart at doing tricks! I already own a little basketball hoop, and the ring toss and have seen caiques doing it before. I am not sure if Indian ringnecks do tricks though? I am assuming that any trick taught to a bird in a positive manner would be something it would do.
The one thing I am not great at with birds is knowing their signs when upset. With a dog its easy enough to know when they are growling and the hair is raised, STAY AWAY! But not so much with birds yet ... My conure was a pretty tame guy who would catch a little attitude now and then, but he also didnt bite very hard when he did have something to say!

Would love to hear back if you have anything to share.

All birds can talk and all birds can learn tricks it is a matter of yor time spent. I know in and caiques both that talk and do tricks, but the owners took the time to do this. For the bites caique will be worse IMO, but irn can be pretty bad to I've got it from both of them and the caique has always ripped me open more I guess if you need to know that:p.

I'd defiantly say irn are louder though there wild call is very shrill and high pitched as cliques usually aren't to terrible but can be about the same noise level.

It is a hard pick to be honest I love both species and own both species so I can't really say I favor ether or I love them both marley and pickles are great.
