Cage suggestions needed

Hi, I am a new member and I am going to be getting my first lovebird in a couple weeks. I want to order a cage, and I have been searching, but I was hoping I could get input from those of you that already have cages. I
I am noticing that most of the flight cages don’t have locking food doors... does anyone have issues with their lovebirds escaping?
I am only concerned about locking doors because my Daughter is home from college with her young cat whom is very inquisitive. I want to be sure that the cage I get is very secure. I will obviously have the cat put away whenever the bird is out of its cage, for its safety. I have owned birds before, just not a lovebird.

We have used birdcages4less.com for years!

- Target cages with full height front door.
- Stay away from 'special' shapes as they commonly result in loss of interior space.
- Yup, you will want locking food doors!
- Consider cages with flat tops that also come with a play /perch top.
- Stay away from cages, which have tops that open as they commonly fail and can catch you Parrot in the falling sections.

FYI: Likely your daughter and her cat will be back a College in mid August. Strongly recommend that you hold-off getting your Parrot until the cat is gone! This will greatly reduce the stress of remembering to assure that the cage is fully closed and its just you and the Parrot time...
