Some cage question, I found two at Pet supermarket and they seem pretty big to me and good for a conure but I'm not sure 100%. I got some pictures(Mind you they are not great) but from glance do they look fine? No playtop but as I see it that can be something to improve on in the future I suppose. Anyways from first glance is it ok? I have two. View attachment 1630

And toys! I bought some toys for them! Any suggestion on toys I could possibly add?!

The perchs are a sand swing, regular sand perch, a robe perch and a kind of twizler perch(I was going to use it as a make shift top perch, and a kind of edible perch.

make sure you get some foraging toys, and some preeners. Also wood is good but you might consider getting a pinata. my birds love these and my conure prefers them over hard wood :)

Might want to post the dimensions...what kind of Conure? GCC's need to have very small bar spacing, so that might be ok but for a Sun I'd go bigger. Petsmart & Petco were way too expensive IMO, but the local bird shop & Craigslist have great deals.

Just a thought ;)

Sun conure and I believe those are 1/2 bar spacing is what I've been told to get for them lol.

I do plan to get some more toys(liked a forager never heard of a preener but I'll look into it.

I'd give you dimension but I have no idea myself.

Conures are best in 1/2 inch bar spacing as stated. Cage should be no smaller than 23X23 inches. The ones in the photo are much too small. Try Petco on line, avain adventure cages or king cages are very good.

I take them to be a toy w/feather like material. Merlin has one that is made from straw, he doesn't like it. His favorite toys are easter eggs & bottle lids.

I agree too that you should look for a used cage and stretch the budget and go as big as you can afford and spaace allows.

I would suggest the cage be more like the bigger one in your last post...Also, I would recommend a toy with leather on it, as they seem to enjoy it. I make all of my toys, so if you ever decide to go that route, you can get cheap leather pieces and strips on ebay. As long as they are veggie tanned ofcourse. My conure also seems to enjoy toys made of beads and little charms as I have posted below. Plus going to a Dollar Tree...you can get so many little parts for your friend. Good luck!

(link didn't work..apologies)

cages are expensive the cage shoulb be big enough for the bird to strech its wings completly and be able to move around, i have gcc her cage isnt tht big but she can move around well and i have her out all day wen i get home, try second hand shops like good will and thrift shops they ususally have bird cages

I'm hoping the cage I posted is big enough? Or should I go bigger? I checked all my shops and the pet co has a extremely small area, the largest cage at my local shop has a 1' bar spacing and the only 1/2 I could find was pretty small :(.

I'd try pet smart but that is a drive.

As for toys I do plan to make my own soon but intill I learn how I going to buy :)

I think that you and your bird will both love the chateau cage you posted. My GCC is in one, and he has lots of room. It's a really nice size, and decent price. :)

Awesome^_^ Bird are so picky about their homes that I just want to get it perfect the first time for the new baby. Found out today I don't have to pay shipping on it so that pretty awesome!
