Houdini, Peeper, and Little Blue--the Budgie Trio
I have been waiting on the large cage promised to me when I rescued my BFA, but it doesn't seem to be coming any time soon. The cage Queequeg is in is woefully small--maybe twenty inches wide and not as deep. That being said, the cage door is always open, so she spends most of her time free on top or on a nearby java tree stand. (One wing is clipped, so she can't fly at all.)
Here is my question: I have two budgies in a much larger flight cage. In fact, Queequeg has climbed into their cage on two occasions and hung out with them. Their cage has thinner wire which is probably harder for her to hold on to, but... what do you think about my having the birds trade cages? I know it isn't ideal, AND I'm not sure how important it is, given the fact that Queegy only goes into her cage to retreat for quiet time. And the budgies, not tame, do appreciate their space... [Sigh.] I wish Queegy's former temporary holder would just give me the big cage!
