African Grey "Reno" - sadly, now gone from my life
A couple of days ago, my wife was cleaning up downstairs (we've been looking after a friend's flock of 7 parrots, while she was out of the country for a few weeks). As she came upstairs, my 'Zon "Sammy" was raising a ruckus upstairs...his favorite thing to do is to squawk "Awwk BuGACK!!!", really loud, as this gets the rest of the flock yelling, and sets the dogs to howling.
Everyone was in full song when she came up the stairs, and owing to her headache, she yelled "QUIET!!".
Everything went silent. Not a sound.
A few seconds pass. Suddenly, a little voice piped up from the corner (our CAG, "Reno"), who said...
"You broke him!"
My wife's headache suddenly vanished, and she was in tears she was laughing so hard.
We've never heard him say that before, and it was a perfect response, complete with flawless comedic timing.
They never cease to entertain, do they?
