4 red rump parakeet babies & 3 baby cockatiels.
2 of the older red rumps are getting their feathers and are just a rainbow of colours!....I can't wait to see what sex they are.

the 3 baby cockatiels I just pulled from the nesting box this morning-actually I pulled them a bit early by mistake....I misread my calendar :(

anyways, they are huge....the oldest is 13 days and weighs 57g, the middle one is 11 days old and weighs 56g, the youngest is just 9 days old and weighs 52g.

what's funny is the baby cockatiels weigh more than the red rumps and they are younger.

...look at the little yellow crown....awwww

So much cuteness in the photos! I LOVE the wee little mohawks the tiels are sporting. ADORABLE!!! :D

They are so adorable and alien looking at same time!!!

Those are some big baby tiels!!!

Reminds me of two Tori had to hand raise, so ugly and cute at same time :)

Glad all your babies are healthy!! Any guess what you will end up with for tiel varieties?

Oh my gosh! They such little darlings! They are ADORABLE!!!! :D

it's hard to believe they start off so small...

the worst part of breeding is removing the nesting box from the parents...it's really the part I dread the most.

the part I love is opening up the nesting box for the very first time...it's like opening up a gift and seeing what's inside.....little precious babies from mother nature, I just melt every time.

I had to feed the youngest one about an hour or so later than the older two siblings. his crop wasn't quite empty. when I came back later to feed him, I brought him out of the brooder, and placed him in a basket. I had left the door open, and Num Num came flying over to me... he looked at me, like..."can I go in?" so I said "go in Num Num"....he hopped right in and started pruning the babies....all 6 of them.....that is when I wish I had my camera!! darn!!....and I have a total heart meltdown.

while I was feeding the youngest baby,Num Num climbed out of the brooder, came over and started pruning him....guess he figured he might as well prune them all, haha.....
I love you Num Num, your just so darn loveable!

Oh Beth, I meant to remove the nest boxes on my day off and the momma bird decided to lay egg in it the day I was to remove the nest box.....I did NOT want anymore babies but here we go again....They'll be hatching in April....This time I'll remove the nest box the very day I take out the babies, not gonna wait a few days to do it. I just need to cut the ties and yank 'em down....ugh....
