4 beautiful budgies
Hey everyone :) I’ve had my four budgies for over two years now and they’re all healthy and happy. I do have a question regarding their diet though. So this is what I feed my budgies. In the morning I give them a seed mix with fresh water. After they eat their seeds, they’re then free to fly around if they’d like. Once the cage is open, I put some fresh lettuce everyday. Sometime romaine, other times red leaf, and if I don’t have that then I put some fresh broccoli. Around the evening time, I give them a bit more seed and that’s about it. They also get treats such as spray Millet and their cuttle bone is in the cage 24 hours a day for them to use. I’ve tried incorporating more veggies such as carrots and peppers and more fruits such as apples and things like that but they just won’t have at it. I should also mention that after their breakfast, they are given u limited amount of greens along with more seeds. I just want to know if this diet is sufficient and if not, how can I get them to have a better diet?

You can incorporate pellets into their diet, but I wouldn't completely remove seeds, either.

Sprouted seeds an be a great option as well for something different.

Definitely more vegetables, which may take some time and ingenuity to get them to eat a wider variety! ;)
