Please help.
Earlier my conure flew into the bathroom on the counter top and I heard the plastic cup fall (kids cup for bathing). I ran in there and she was on the floor with her right wing out next to the cup (assuming cup fell on her). I picked her up and she gave me this poor look but no sound. I examined her wing and i figured it was a sprain. It felt a little plump to the touch but now the swelling has gone down. I don't feel any protruding bones as I felt her other side to see if (i guess it'd be their elbow? "Alula" anatomy wise) it was the same on both sides and it does feel the same except for the little plumpness. Her wing is drooping down but not touching the floor she can still hold it up but she keeps trying to fly and she fell 3 times on her wing (roughly 1-2 ft)
=(
IT is the holidays so my Vet school is closed (there we have a xray machine and everything a vet office has) and I googled avian vets near me and I have no luck right now. Right after it happened she can lift both wings when stretching but now she's not moving it at all. She also stretches one wing but not the other. She has been sleeping alot today but is still eating and drinking. She usually eats like a piglet but she is only eating her seeds now. She attempted to eat eggs, nuts, and I gave her buckwheat pasta and she turned down salmon. I didn't have pedialyte on hand so i mixed a tiny amount of the orange gatorade mixed with water, more so water. I got my VT books out and cannot find anything on the birds wings other than doing surgery but obviously I am not going to attempt that at home and on the fence about it even if I were to go to a vet office. I have been real sad today but she still cuddles with me and eats/drinks but hasn't made any sound except when I help her get to where she needs to go.

From what you describe it sounds like a sprain, although it's possible the wing may also have a fracture. I would add a extra heat source if she's in a chilly/drafty room, keep her calm, and watch over her carefully for any odd behavior.

When the vet is open see if you can get her in to be checked out.

Thank you for your timely response! I am with her 24-7 even when she's not injured...call me crazy but she even sleeps with me lol
Today she is playing and talking a little but not much. Still lets me know when she needs to get from one area to another if I'm not in front of her but I can read where she want's to go aside from that. She is eating alot more as normal now and drinking alot of water. I feel so down because she cannot fly. So even if her wing is drooping down it can still be a sprain? I read everywhere online that the droop is an indication of a broken wing? Nowhere in my text books can I find any info as my school is not avian specific but more so for your normal domesticated pets. I have info in there but not in detail, maybe I should double check again as I was freaking out yesterday and didn't really read into everything. I barely started college again so I haven't really gone through with the avian part of it yet.
She did move her wing yesterday a little after it happened but not anymore since. She keeps attempting to fly which is bad because she keeps rolling over on the hurt wing after landing. Take into account she just learned how to fly as she has been off weaning for a few weeks now. I can lift her wing and touch it but when I try to handle it too much she will get mad, she doesn't make any hurt noises when she lands on it or if I touch it but if I move it a certain way she doesn't like it.
I don't have drafts in my home, I use the heater and it is set to 70-75...during the day we have windows all around so the sun shines in and it's not too cold outside where I am. Actually today is alot colder, winter hits later and later each year goes by. She doesn't want to be anywhere but mainly on top of my modem as it gets pretty warm. I have my tortoise light bulb to keep her warm but she doesn't want to be in her cage or near that bulb so I just keep her on the modem. I don't want to stress her out during this time. She's content and grinding her beak on the modem right now and just got done with eating and playing but now dosing off to sleep. I know I am supposed to keep her confined to her cage so she doesn't further injure the wing but I NEVER keep her in her cage unless I go to school for a fews hrs. idk
Finally found an Avian Vet but it is not in my city at all =/
I think I have access to my school on Monday for the xrays and to possibly put her in a sling but until then I'm not sure if waiting would be too late? can it still heal properly if I wait till monday? I noticed she can move it still but she chooses not to, I seen her this morning when I woke up she was preening herself under that wing and she moved it out a little? If it was broke I don't think she'd move it at all right? A little after it happened yesterday she lifted both wings up high over her head (stretching) but that was just once. Also if it was completely broke she wouldn't be flying right or attempting to I mean?
She tried 3 times yesterday and twice today =/

I'm sorry to hear about the accident. How is your bird doing today? Hopefully she is improving :)

Also, you mentioned your conure sleeps with you. Do you mean in your bed? If so I would take extra caution as I've read quite a bit of horror stories of owners crushing their bird while asleep. When I take afternoon naps, I'm guilty of it sometimes too! Boomer likes to sleep on my head or neck. I'm a still sleeper but it only takes one wrong move for our gigantic human bodies to do major damage. I'm trying to remind myself everyday to be more careful around him. Sorry to derail, but better safe than sorry! :)

Sending you and your birdie some good vibes! Hope all goes well!

Hope your baby is better today, any updates???

Yes boom boom I do sleep with her. I am a still sleeper too and I have been a light sleeper as far as I could remember. I am thinkn of getting her a buddy so maybe she would actually partner up and sleep in her cage. She hates her cage.
MikeyTN she is much better and playing and acting normal but just cannot fly...wing is still drooping. I have called my school today and left a message and contacted all my instructors for the VetTech program so hopefully one of them comes in to help me. We are all on holiday break so not guaranteed to get assistance atm. Maybe if I don't hear from someone I will have to drive out of town tomorrow and see what I can do. I am on the fence about vets in my area because I want an actual avian vet. Either I let her heal on her own or I take her in. I am not gonna bandage her since IDK if there is a break or fracture or what and bandaging them could do more damage than natural healing in certain circumstances so I am going to sit tight. She lets me handle her wing for the most part but I just can't move it a certain way. Thanks you guys. =)
Greatly appreciate the support and help. I think I was freaking out too much and so far she's doing better than I am about the whole ordeal. I cried the night I wrote this and haven't been able to sleep really as I have been torn on this thinking if she will ever be able to fly again or not. Makes me really bummed out knowing if a bird cannot fly anymore or not. Anyways, I'm sure she'll do fine and I will do what I can on my part to help her any way I can.

you can look on you tube for bandaging a wing.

if she continues to try and fly she is only aggravating it further and could potentially injure it more.

I would try and bandage it up for a few days, then remove it, and see how she is.

GREAT NEWS! My school doesn't look promising so I am going to drive the distance outta town and made an apt with the avian vet in the morn. Will update you guys tomorrow =D
THANK U ALL for the support!
Crimson- I refuse to bandage because I need to xray and know for sure if it is a fracture, clean break, sprain, or strain before I attempt anything on her. I hope I didn't wait too long:(
