Breeding and dummy eggs?

Since creating Instagram, I've followed a few bird breeders. I've heard of eggs being destroyed by parrot parents, and being replaced with dummy eggs...and I just want to know, what purpose do they serve, or how exactly do they work? I've seen when the breeders put the fake eggs in the parrot will sometimes apparently stop destroying the eggs. But why?

Also, another question, do male parrots incubate the eggs as well?

AND FINALLY, do parrot parents show affection to their chicks and "play" with them the way for example mammals do? I know that many researchers believe animals like dogs and cats don't "remember" their offspring, but instead retain a certain familiarity with their babies. Do parrots remember their babies after the babies reach adulthood?

Also I do not plan on breeding! AT all. Ever. The first few questions are things that I have only recently been thinking about, but the last two questions have bothered me for quite a while and I've never really found an answer to them.:confused::confused:

Some nesting parrots are simply not good parents and if they have tasted raw egg, will often break & eat their own eggs...in these cases, the pair should be separated & prevented from further breeding.....

Often, when eggs are removed from a nest, the hen (a natural instinct) will try to replace them by generating new ones, so it is always advisable to leave the nest alone until the nesting birds either hatch them or abandon the nest.....if you do not want chicks, don't pair males & females in the same cage.....Many hens can tell their eggs from fake eggs, so, you maybe the only thing your faux eggs fool.....

Also, another question, do male parrots incubate the eggs as well? In some species, yes.....

Really, the only familial familiarity our feathered friends retain is that when the parents are ready to nest again, they will physically chase their chicks out of the nest and away from the nesting site so that they do not compete for the nesting amenities of that particular site...however, when chicks are forced to remain in a cage with their parents, fathers will often father chicks with mature daughters and fathers may kill their male offspring.....e"]

Hope that answered your questions.....
