I found this breeder here in Nebraska and only breed African Grey's. I called the number but it's been removed and the last update on the website was back in March 12, 2011. I hope their still in business ?
I did send a email, so hopefully they'll reply.

UPDATE-

Well, my email was returned, so they might be out of business. Bummer !

Feathers 'N Flame-

FeatherNFlameAviary

Do any of you have information about them ?

Thanks,
Kevin

That's a shame if they are out of business, I read through their website and they seemed like very caring people. I checked on birdbreeders.com and they are listed but they do not have any visible information other than their phone number which is the same as on their website. It does say that they are in Morrill, NE, that may help in your search to find out if they are still breeding, it seems strange that they would go from three pairs that are producing clutches to not breeding at all. Try asking around at pet stores and maybe even talking to other breeders and see if they know anything about their current situation.

Yes, that's the only information I could find, and no luck contacting them.

I just spoke to Sue Zimmerman, owner of "Zimmerman Pets" in Sioux City Iowa, about 2 hrs. from me. She was very nice and had a conversation between the Grey and Too's. She has a rescue Umbrella Too from a divorce couple. Says "Babbles" is 6 years old, loves everyone, dances, speaks etc., but is not,.... a screamer. She did pluck out some feathers from the stress, but is growing them back and no more plucking.

We plan one visiting them late next week, depending on how I feel after surgery on Wed. She will be sending me a short video, photo's and information about her.

Oh god....I wouldn't buy from Sue Zimmerman...she's out in the boonies and she's in it for profit. Its very filthy, dark, dim, and dirty inside!!!! I've been there years ago...

She's been around for a very long time. Unless she moved, upgraded her house, or cleaned up. If you go visit, please do update me on that info cause that memory of the filth is burned into my memory....

When I went to visit her, I had my brother, my best friend and my baby bunny that I was bottle feeding with me. And the baby bunny opened her eyes for the very first time on that trip. I remembered it all too well. It's been about 14 years ago....She had some sort of elevator in her house. There was probably around 100 breeding parakeets in a wire mesh cage with nest box all the way around the cage. The cage was about 7' long by 4' wide and 5' tall. I have a memory of a elephant....lol....I even remember she tattoo her birds under their wings to identify their sex.

I don't know anything about her, but I'd be curious to know if someone that deep into it could change their ways....I'd like to think so, but my gut says no.

100 parakeets all in one cage? I can't even imagine that, I had five that came in two cages and some of them just didn't get along with certain other ones. I watched them closely for about a week to see how they interacted and then got them new cages accordingly. When I worked at petsmart we easily had 50 budgies at time and I was constantly having to pull some out and place them in individual cages in our isolation room because they were getting picked on by the more dominant, older ones.

I too hope that she has changed her ways but she is obviously only in it for the money and people like that don't usually miraculously have a change of heart when all they see is dollar signs and profit margins.

If she hasn't changed her ways, I'll have nothing to do with her, but I hate to smash anyone without proof, that's how bad rumors are started. I'm not,...saying that MikeyTN is not telling the truth, I or someone else needs to visit her and see if she's a lot better. I hope so !

I sure hope she changed her ways. Back then Sioux City was a short trip since I was living in Sioux Falls, SD. Sioux City was only about 2 hrs away. I went there quite often.
