Brass in Macaw cage

I want to put a large brass bell in my Macaw's cage so he can have fun banging it around, but is brass safe? Not going to be toxic in some way? Thanks.

Brass is an alloy made from copper and zinc so it is dangerous. Only ever buy bird safe items from reputable places. If it says made in china then don't get it, they often use heavy metals and lead based paints so they're almost always toxic.

Stainless steel is the best metal for bird toys, not poisonous and doesn't rust
