I went ahead and bought a really nice $600 cage I fell in love with..
(but when I got home one of the cage skirts was missing, what the hell? oh well) It has a play top, water and food dish on top of cage, slide out cleaning tray where they play, one main locking door, two swing out dishes, and a sliding tray on the bottom. the thing inside the cage are the skirts.. I also bought three cleaners.. 1. an organic easy bird cage cleaner, 2. an organic overall health cage sanitizer 3. an organic deodorizer..
i'm going to make it a habit of cleaning every three days. shamefully, i've really bad about cleaning their cages lately. I plan on keeping all three conures in this cage, and keeping my two 30x18x18 flight cages on each side, ontop of two tall end tables.

I obviously got perch/toy happy.. but I think theyll figure everything out sooner or later.
my only fear is one of them falling.

nice cage sounds like you had a really fun shopping trip:D

Cute pics! I think they will have fun in the cage. I used to sometimes get lazy with the 'real' cleaning too, but i would take out the newspaper and put in clean paper daily, and do the food and water daily, so it stayed 'tidy' for her.
For being such perfect, clean little animals, they sure can make a mess, can't they?

Lovely Cage:) I dont have the skirts on Codie's Cage!! They are more trouble than they are worth!

Oohh I agree! Thinking of taking sunshines off. They catch some stuff but for the most part they are just a pain to clean, especially the corners where they connect. I bought a strip of the floor mat for under an office chair really cheap at home depot, I think just wiping that up would probably be easier than taking the stupid skirt apart every few days to clean.

I agree... I tried them once, and after that left them off...

Nice cage... :)

The cage skirts come in handy if your bird tends to sit on the roof, stick his bum over the edge and poop. That is, when he is not doing it into his water bowl.
For cleaning we have industrial quantities of F10 and a jumbo paper towel roll.
I love this picture

They have a wonderful "Princess Diana" coy look.
