Okay, does anyone else's Seni go nuts when their human engages in a certain activity?

I can't read around Kito without her pacing in her cage and trying to shred my books. She seriously jumped down three feet from her cage, ran past me and attacked my pile of books on the floor. She's even taken to biting the fingers holding up a book if I let her on me when I'm reading.

I love my girl, but I am getting tired of her crawling up my arm when I'm holding a book and having to shift my arm's position every 15 seconds to keep her from eating it...

I could just not read in the living room, but that seems like an unnecessary inconvenience and there must be a way to teach her that books aren't toys or a threat. Any thoughts?

River "signed" a book I was reading that I had borrowed from my mom. Fortunately, she didn't mind the little triangle shaped bits missing out of the top of the cover. I think he just thinks that I should be paying attention to him, and not some book! lol. Now I just put him away in his cage when I'm going to read.

I have a tiel that is obsessive on the laptop. As soon as I get laptop out, he is over and on to it. I end up putting tiel in cage (sometimes) or laptop (usually) away cos if you try to move him away from it, he loses it - with me.

Maybe I need an ebook reader. She's now begun to stalk my books. She launches from feet away with talons descended and a war cry from her beak... You'd think a book crushed her mother with the vendetta she's set out against them...

Hahahhaa! I know it isn't funny...but in some respects it is...my conure is that way about my computer keyboard. If I have him out and he get's on my keyboard, I can forget about even TOUCHING it, he'll attack! Little stinker!

So now he has to stay away, in his cage if necessary, so I can work at the computer. If I have him out and think, aww...I'll keep him on my chair or make him stay on my shoulder...nope, I get nothing done, because I'm always "fighting" him to stay away from my keyboard.

And as a side note: everything I read anymore, has parrot holes...Franklin just loves to "read." hahahaha!

My first male cockatiel would "claim" a space and this space would be different all the time. One time it was my dining room table, the WHOLE table! And when I went to grab something off it, he flew and attacked! It could be floor space, the fish aquarium, the couch, tv...didn't matter, if he decided it was "claimed" Chaco's space...he'd be sure to let you know it!

Darn birds anyway!

:D

...But she already shreds a newspaper a week :'( ;p

I have always loved to read as much as i can, but my sun thinks i should be playing with him. So just about every book i have has little places missing that fits his beak lol. If i have a book borrowed it stays in my bed room to read before bed. Long after the fids and kids are asleep.

Max believes that if I am in the room, my full undivided attention should be on MAX. :) He has a great dislike for any book that I should pick up (yet my boyfriends entire bookcase is okay) and he has a great interest in learning how to destroy my cell phone :)
