Well... I am a total book worm and can read for hours on end. But, I need some book recommendations, as I can't find anything that totally engrosses me. I am a huge fan of magical, fantasy, sorcery type stories. (Cassandra Clare, anyone?! LOVE her! She wrote the 'Mortal Instruments' and 'Infernal Devices' series.) I'll also settle for sad, emotional type stories, I guess. (The Fault In Our Stars is an example.... Love it!) Soooo.....

I've been looking through some bookstore websites, and I think I've found a few good reads. Anyone read Shatter Me? Seems really good! :) I may go take a look and go get it.

Thank you!

Fire and ice by george Martin is good and also Wicked by Gregory Maguire.

ahhhh mortal instruments were amazing!

OMG I love Simon and Magnus! And, duh, Clary! :D

Ah, I read the Harry Potter series in a week too! The first two in one day, then the rest were about one a day. And I loved Twilight! But the movies kind of ruined it for me. It turned too much into a romance story and overshadowed the adventure and thrill part. But, oh well! :p

Have you read the Infernal Devices series? I read the first two books the day they came out, and I'm waiting for the third (and final! Sob! :() one! It comes out on my birthday, so I am really excited for the opening. The series is the prequel to the Mortal Instruments. Takes place in the past and features hints into the Mortal Instruments (Magnus Bane, Camille [the vampire], etc.). Still about Shadowhunters, Vampires, Warlocks, etc. Have you read all the Mortal Instruments?

Oh, I've read all the mythology of Rick Riordan! Percy Jackson was my favorite though. :D

i know, the twilight movies just made it into a pathetic romance, no cool mystery/fantasy!

the harry potter movies ruined the books as well :(

haha percy jackson is the best!!! :p

and mortal instruments had a book that came out recently didnt it? i have only read 3 i think :p

havnt read infernal devices!

read the tryll series, trust me, its amazing! about a girl and finds out she is a troll princess, but not ugly scary trolls, they are pretty and have powers and stuff and she lives in the kingdom but hates it, its kinda like vampire academy/twilight and harry potter :p

I LOVE BOOKS TOO!!!!

I'm a total loser for books. I reread the Harry Potter series and The Lord of the Rings series (and I've got my midnight tickets for The Hobbit... here's hoping they don't ruin it) every year in the spring!!! I love The Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones) and I cannot wait for the next book.

Have you ever read The Dresden Files? A lot of people love them. I couldn't make it through the first one, but they're pretty good fantasy.

i havnt read lord of the rings, is it any good? because the movies were so boring, i have watched the first 2 hours of the first one, but just cant get through it hahaha

i also love kids books- yes.. laugh -.- :p like animorphs, and goosebumps, my secret unicorn, and pony pals

OH! I just looked up the trilogy. The first half of the first book was SO GOOD! I didn't know that was the title of the trilogy. :p I've always been meaning to finish it considering how good it was, but I lost my copy and never got around to other! Now i think I will. :p

I've used Bookmooch to get many books.

Magic Kingdom of Landover Novels by Terry Brooks (it's... interesting)
The Path of Fate trilogy by Diana Pharaoh Francis (humans have animal companions they can speak with)
Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn books by Tad Williams (takes a bit to get into)
Dragonlord series by Joanne Bertin
Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind (loved this series!)
Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony (anything by Piers Anthony is great! always something different and unique - also love the Xanth series by him)
Wayfarer Redemption books by Sara Douglass (definitely different)
Inheritance books by Christopher Paolini
The Pearl series by Eric Van Lustbader (magic vs technology)
Wolf series by Jane Lindskold (girl raised by intelligent wolves helps to bring magic back to the land & humans - odd series)

That's just a few that I've read... I prefer series over single books, mostly.... but I still enjoy a good single book! Most I read tend to center around dragons and animals.

Recently bought a used bookshelf for cheap to store all my books on... but with an impending flood, there's not much point in it...

I prefer series as well, bit single books can be just as good! I don't know, just personal preference. :) My list is getting really long! :D I'm limited to 30 books on my library card, they all look so GOOD!!!
