I try to put Bob to bed around 9:00 PM (he gets up around 8:30 AM), and about a half hour before bedtime I will tell him that it is bed time soon. Then around 9:00 PM I will put him in his cage and say bed time in five minutes. I will then care for myself and try to put Bob to bed. I don't like putting him to bed hungry and if he is eating I will give him an extra five minutes. Tonight I accidently snuck up on him and as soon as he noticed me he went straight to his food. He then proceeded to take his food and throw it on the ground.

I can only imagine that the little stinker is doing this to stay up late. I wonder how long he has been doing it?

Sneaky, Bob. Merlin does the same thing, for the same reasons. He used to say nite, nite when he was getting sleepy. He realized he was reminding us about bedtime, he doesn't say it anymore. lol He does run from my husband @ times saying "nite, nite, NO.

River does the "I'm hungry now" trick when it's bedtime too! lol. Then he eventually gets into his happy hut and makes the most pitiful sounding noises, like a kid complaining about going to bed.

That is too funny! It never ceases to amaze me just how intelligent these beautiful creatures are. Precious does all kinds of sneaky things & I can't believe that he not only repeats words but knows which context to put them in! Whoever started using "Birdbrain" as a way to call someone stupid? My parrot is WAY smarter than my Ex.

Willie will say good morning when you say good night....he's not ready for bed....lol
