So we start the remodel on the house this friday!! Woohoo! So the birds are going to their "Birdysitters" Friday afternoon. . Both sitters are good friends who have their own birds so I know they will be safe.
We are expecting them to be out of the house for 4-5 days. We are putting click LVT flooring in 2 rooms(they can be home for that though so that is last on the list), re-tiling and fixing the shower and bathroom floor, and then painting 4.5 rooms. So they will be gone for the painting, plus 2 days extra for fume clearance, and for the main part of the bathroom redo.
With that being said.... they will be at 2 places. My macaw with a friend about 15 minutes away...and my conures with a friend 2 blocks up. Unfortunately the conures are staying in travel cages that are are the smaller size but big enough for toys and a few perches, and the macaw is staying in my friend's cleaned extra large macaw cage..I just have to take Rhage's patches and toys.
Can I visit them over the few days they are out of the house? Or will me coming and going bother them more?
I just got back from vacation a week ago, I was gone 4 days, and they were fine! But they were at home... in their own cages... with my mother who they know. This time they will be away from home and with people they have met a few times, but never really interacted with much.
Conlan and Mira (both gcc)will be fine... those divas could care less what they are in lol. And are handleable with just about anyone.
Mouse(sun) and Kellan(jenday) will probably have a screaming fit. Mouse is shy but Kellan is nasty with other people so they know he can't come out lol
And my friend take Rhage has had macaws before so he knows how to work around them. But Rhage isn't a fan of men so he probably won't get much playtime.. hence i'm taking a bunch of toys and enrichment for him.
I just feel like they will think i'm abandoning them. And while I want too visit daily I don't know how they would react to me coming and going so i'm not sure if maybe not seeing them until pick up would be better.
Any tips?
