Blue throat macaw breeder in Texas

I've been looking for a blue throat macaw. I live in TX and know that I cannot get one from out of state. I only knew of 2 breeders that sometimes have BTM babies for. sale. Neither breeder has babies this season. Does anyone here know of a breeder in TX with BTM babies this season?

As the number of Breeders continue to diminish, the availability of specific Parrots become spotty and are commonly not available some years.

I am well aware of the C.I.T.E.S listing for this specific species, but I am pretty sure you can drive to any state to purchase and then drive the bird back home. I believe this is a loop hole. The restriction states that no breeder can ship the bird across state lines. But I do not see how they (they being the people that enforce the endangered restrictions for CITES) can prevent a bird from being driven across state lines. EX: if an individual purchased in the state of hatching and had to move to a different state (for whatever reason) - could they then have to sell their beloved companion to someone else within the state of hatching? or are they allowed to move the bird with them?

If I recall with one breeder in VA, you had to show proof of residency in the state as a condition of purchase

depending on the laws within both states yes, remember emotion has no part in law, just the facts (despite what some would like to believe)

With any parrot species it is important to double check the law when it comes down to them, even if it means writing to your congressman to get it all explained in a way that makes sense

Nope. Can't do that anymore. Breeders have to document residence with a photo ID. Restrictions on BTM's are ridiculous these days. As a strategy this will backfire, because it makes it harder to sell them, therefore less people will be inclined to breed them. At the same time, they are going extinct, and we need more captive breeding pairs... SO...
