:green: hello there im new to the page but found a page for parrot lovers...great. i have a blue fronted amazon called tui, shes 5 years old and likes no one but me, recently we have been trying to get tui to to intaract with my partner, it can be sucessful but sometimes she ither goes to bite me or my partner.

also when tui is out the cage and my partner puts his coat on the bird goes for him :/ im just wondering is it the colour or the coat itself?

thanks

Could be both [meaning him and his coat] .He could perceive you as his mate [and your partner as a threat.

hmmm i have thought that she gets very attached to me at times, its weird thought at some points she does want to go to my partner n shel try and step on his hand but because shes agressive towards him he holds back, i just hope with plenty of help and training i can make them become friends lol

thanks for ur reply all are welcome :)

Welcome to the forum, bethyboop. :)

Are you 100% certain that Tui is a girl? I'm only asking because male Amazons "can" become a bit more aggressive during breeding season.

You could try and have Tui interact with your partner while you are out of sight, and see how that works. :)

well the breeder i got her from says hes sure shes a girl we have never got her d.n.a sexed yet which could be an option, it would make sence if she turns out to be a male, il get her sexed and see :) when im at work tui is completly differant so what im gonna try is getting them 2 to intaract more. apart from that shes awsome she makes me laugh and shes so loving most of the time.

if anyone has more ideas please send um my way all welcome

Well my blue front is only bonded to me. She would fly to attack my mum and sister. Amazons are defiantly more aggressive during breeding I think.
Did you get her as a baby?? mine was 4yrs when I got her and because I was the only one to spend time with her she bonded only to me.
Also amazon(not always) prefers the opposite sex, so if it does turn out to be a male could answer one or two problems!!!

yer we got her from a baby shes bonded to me, but for the past few years shes become very aggressive towards my partner so much now that he doesn't go near the bird which is a shame. il get her sexed and see if shes a girl or boy.
