So, as some of you know I've been debating what to do with blue as she's never really flown. Do I clip her and take her out side so she can enjoy the tree in our yard and walks or to I try and get her flying. Well recently I've been encouraging her to fly. Sitting her on my arm and running up and down our sitting room!!

Decorators are in at the minute so her cage is sat one end of the room she flies in(not her normal cage room) we'll she was being a little snotty, I wanted to fly her but every time I tried getting her to step up she'd fend me away... So I got up and walked off.

Suddenly she took off down the room and landed on her cage..... Couldn't believe it.... She CAN take off on her own. Gave her lots of praise!!!

She had a quick feed, then with out warning off she went again, full length of the room and perched herself on her usual chair. Had to pick my jaw off the floor. I'm sooo chuffed. No crash landings either, she was perfect.

Any ideas how to keep her interested like this??? I'm hoping this isn't going to be a one off :S

But over all VERY happy. I'm sure she was smiling. She's no longer snotty anyways lol.

WOW Matt! I would have LOVED to have seen your face when Blue did this. :D Pretty amazing sight to see them fly, isn't it?

Is she food oriented at all? If not, she may surprise you again like this all on her own.

LOVED reading your post, got a really good chuckle. :)

Soon maybe you can join Wendy in semi darkness putting a flight harness on Blue. :D Then you get the best of it all, flight and safe outside time!

Thank you :D

Oh it was brilliant, I was sooo happy. She has flown before, usually after my mum or sister, she's never flown on her own accord to achieve something (if that makes sense)
She'll take food (nuts) if offered but she won't go out of her way to go get it. I was hiding pieces of nut under bottle tops today. She saw me put them there but wasn't interested. I used to get her to shake hands too but it got to the point where she'd ignore treats. She's an odd bird. Maybe recalls an option now!!! Not keeping my hopes up tho!! :green:<3
