yes it's a long story... Basically We specifically requested a dark blue colored Macaw and the guy said this baby would be b/c the parents and all the others are but this one has turqoise colored everything.... I specificlly wanted a Dark blue winged B&G and have been crying all night b/c I am somewhat attached but so pissed that I'm so mad at myself for believeing the guy that I'm a complete wreck! My pregnancy is totally not helping the situation... SO i'm even MORE emotional! I have been crying for 2 hours! I'm so mad!

Also, i'm not 100% sure i'm going to sell him i'm just so upset.. and if I do find an awesome home .. good if not .. then I will keep praying for sainity ... i feel like a POS that I'm even thinking of rehoming.. I dont know I'm just so MAD!

Take a deep breath, you will be so in love w/Jessie that you won't want to rehome him. He will be beautiful, you've been so happy to have him. You might wake up tomorrow & wonder who made your post. Its a shock, but turquoise sounds amazing.

Just breath! :) You have the right to be mad, but at the end of the day its just a color. You will love him just the same.

Just think it over! Sleep on it, give it a few more weeks you'll think differ! Hormonal mood swings......Message me tomorrow! Like everyone is saying BREATH!!!!!!!! :)

too bad you cannot delete trends..... =(

Boy, I would have loved to have him, I wouldn't care if he were plaid. Mull it over before making a rash decision. But unfortunately when you weren't able to see the parents, you had to go on what they told you. That might be why seller/breeder was willing to meet you half way so that you wouldn't see the coloration of the parents. I don't know for sure, but it might just be an old retired cops suspicious mind.

But I sure can't blame you for feeling the way you do. That is quite an investment and it's not like you will be in a position or would want to own two Macaws. So I can understand why you would want a specific bird. But to me, they are all beautiful.

I just sitting here at my computer this morning, listening to Tiki's vocalizations ans loving up on her this morning. Now if I could just keep her off my key board. I think she see's me typing and thinks it's fun and wants to try it. Or she is trying to get my attention.

A fellow sent me pics of a macaw baby that he's selling that might be more of the coloration your looking for. I think he said it was like 6-8 weeks old. He was wanting like $500.00 non-weaned, but if he weaned it he would want $650.00. If not mistaken, he's in Orlando or there abouts. Which is a lot closer drive for you.

A big plus here is, if he's local, you could actually go by and see the parents. But I think with the pin fethers coming out nicely, you should be able to get a good idea of his colors now. It looks to me like he will be a nice dark blue. But again, this is only a picture. He said he will also have a couple more that are a bit younger than this one is.

Reminds me of a couple I knew who were expecting their 1st baby. They were both dark haired people, when asked what they thought their baby would look like, the man said "I don't know but if it has red hair, I'm shooting the Irish Setter" lol

Hey Cecilia, how are you doing today and are you more at peace with Jesse?

I've been meaning to ask you, how will it be once your baby is born and by that time, Jesse will be getting bigger and quite sassy. I know Macaws can be quite loud. I would think this would be a major issue with a new born.

I know when my daughter was born, for the first year, my wife prayed for her to take those soooooo welcomed naps in the afternoon due to being bone tired or my daughter being cranky from being tired, but not wanting to sleep.

I doubt Jessie can be any louder than my 8 mo old let alone when my oldest was born his father was abusive and well needless to say we were always screaming and fighting... I thought about all of that b4 i got jessie. Children adapt to their surroundings. My oldest can now sleep through EVERYTHING... My 8mo old wakes up for everything b/c the house was always quite... So i'm sure you catch my drift. This is my 3rd child i know the routine with how kids are or can be. Jessie being sassy is something i'm prepaired for. I have an amazing husband who helps a lot with the kids even after a hard days work. I dont see how 1 macaw can be worse than 5dogs 14 cats 4 birds and 2 fish tanks and 2 kids.... ( Don't have all those ne more they were rescues.) Don't get me wrong there are still days I pray for those naps... LOL but I get the rest I need when My husband gets home. It's all worth it by the end of the day...
