My clumsy 3 month old green cheek broke a blood feather on his tail today. It was nearly completely grown out and didnt bleed much. I left him in his cage to stay calm since the feather was pointing out in a weird way. After about half an hour he took the feather out himself. It bled a bit but now it seems pretty much clotted. I think there is still a very short piece of the shaft of the tail left that is coated over by dried blood. I’m not going to pull out what is left because I dont think it is necessary. He’s being his hyper self and doesnt seem to be at all bothered by it. I was wondering if I should let him take a bath the try to clean the area of the dried blood? Any tips would help, it’s my first time dealing with a blood feather. Thanks!
