Parrots
Gandalf - CAG (1997-2010) R.I.P. my baby boy.
Bitty - CAG (2 yrs old? and working on spoiling her rotten)
Last night, I put Bitty down on the floor and put out a bunch of toys for her to play with. Between trying to nibble on my toes, she was very happy.

All of a sudden one of those "test of the emergency broadcast system" things came on the TV. The emergency buzzing sound scared Bitty. A lot. She hopped into the air, and flew straight between my feet, and under the couch!

My couch sits only about 3 inches off of the floor, so it was a precision bit of flying.

She looked so silly crouched down under there. All I could see was the white patches on the sides of her face. It took me at least 5 minutes to coax her back out. But she soon forgot her terror and went back to toe threatening. :D

AWWWWWWWWWwwwwww poor Bitty, at least you were there for her. I have a fire alarm in this apt. that would blast your ears off your head. It is so lound it hurts. I can only imagine how the birds hear it. Rosie flips around the cage like a Hawk is chasing her poor baby.

Wow, glad she didnt head for a window. Instances like that makes me grateful for the skill of a fully flighted bird.

lol nuts not gone for a toe in ages :( (since the incident!) an aww poor bitty

Poor Bitty! My son walked into the house with a balloon once. The birds took one look at the balloon my son was carrying and they all hit the deck! 3 little conures dropped off of their perches and onto the metal grate at the bottom of the cage. Balloons are no longer allowed in my house. Seemingly small things can cause huge amounts of fear in our little feathered children :(

Haha....don't say poor Bitty though.

She's developing quite the 'tude lately.

Last night she was hanging from the bottom of her cage door, and I was absent-mindedly hand-wrestling with her. She started getting a litttle carried away, and biting just a bit too hard. I said "no" to her, and she threw a little tantrum, nipping at me, acting like I was the Devil, etc. It was really pretty funny to watch. So stubborn!!!

I ended up corralling her back into her cage, where she instantly decided I was the love of her life again...all so I would open the door and let her back out...what a manipulative little....

But it was bed time anyway, so in she stayed. She was once again a sweet girl this morning.

Here are a couple of her with what is left of a wiffle ball toy. (That didn't take long.)

Here she is, not quite too happy about the flash LOL. She grabbed a piece of carrot after this shot, and took it to the back of the cage for more undisturbed munching.
