So the 2 year mark of having Lincoln is coming up, on the 21st to be specific. I wanted to do something special for him and make some kind of treat. obviously I can't gave I'm a traditional birthday cake, but any ideas of what I could do?

i actually saw something yesterday where someone had made parrot "cupcakes" and they were adorable!! maybe you could find a recipe like that?

We make Salty a birdy cup cake for his bird-day dinner. sometimes they go over - one time not so much. If Lincoln likes fruits ( Salty does), blueberry muffins are a good treat. Happy Bird-Day Lincoln !!!

I can't do blueberries as he generally has a bad reaction to berries it seems... hmm I'll have to look more at muffins though! thanks!

A tiny piece of cream cheese frosted carrot cake. Then the humans get to eat the rest.

Search Forks Over Knives which is vegan --oil, salt and sugar free. They have some muffin recipes made with oat flour, shredded apple, mashed banana. cinnamon etc. They're really quite good and there's nothing in there a bird couldn't eat.

Oh that is a great idea (actually I like all of them) I tend to stay away from the vegan section (I dislike the preachyness of a lot of veggy-only-enthousiasts) but this sounds like a great option.

Some sort of birdie-bread with a special garnish on top? Fresh organic cranberries are in season, perhaps a crushed layer on top? (my flock generally loves the internal seeds)
