So, Scout and Blue both really like foot toys. Most of my other birds ignore toys on the floor, but these two love them, especially Scout. But I don't like just leaving them on the floor of the cage to get pooped on. So....

They're SO cute! How adorable. :)
I hate when they get pooped on too. That's why I've never been big on foot toys. Raven is the one who loves them, so I make sure his box is filled :). I cut down the top half of a Kleenex box for Raven, although it's kind of small for him (Pionus). He likes to go inside the box. It's so funny seeing him buried in his toys! I need to get a video. I hate when the box gets pooped in! I try to put it in a place to avoid that but it still happens sometimes.

I would love to see a video of that! I just moved these two into a different cage today and it has less floor space, and I was just thinking how all the toys would get pooped on, and I figured I would try the dish :) They both went straight to it!

Griffin also has a foot toy box, but he rarely if ever uses any of it. His cage has a lot less floor space than Raven's cage, so it just gets pooped in no matter where I put it. I think I'm going to take it out. He doesn't use it and it's only serving as a poop catcher! :( I hate cleaning poop off toys since a lot of times it's impossible to get all off.

Gorgeous birdies! :)

I hang a little container full of foot toys in Rosie's cage. They all end up on the floor of the cage when I'm back from work though!!!

I had one hooked up to the stand, they threw the toys on the floor all the time and ripped the bowl of toys off as well, lol Just don't know how to attach it to the stand, I used a glue gun.

Well here I thought I was being a genius! Haha I guess it is pretty common, but these are my first birds who pay any attention to foot toys, so it is new to me :)

So far I haven't been able to get a video, but I did find this pic of Raven sitting in his Kleenex box :)

How cute. And it doesn't make him broody?

Me too. I've never really encouraged foot toys before. I've always just thought of foot toys as things that sit on the bottom of the cage to get pooped on. I noticed Raven really likes them so I get them for him. The only other bird who liked them too was the other BW Pionus I had who died. Have you tried them with your Pi's?

He's only a year old. Though it's not uncommon for Pi's to go though their first hormonal behavior at a year and a half.

Besides, I thought only females got "broody"?? I'm more used to males just getting mean for a few months LOL.

My Pi's like to eat with their feet, but they are still working on playing in general. Actually, they just DEMOLISHED a toy for the first time a couple of weeks ago!! I was sooooooo happy!

What I do with jets is half go in toy pot on tree stand to be chucked on the floor when finished as well I hang them from the tree stand with cotton shoelaces about a foot long and he just pulls up the string and plays / chews them when he is done he just lets it go and it goes back to hanging for next time, now at first sometimes he would drop it over his foot and get it stuck and he would make a strange sound and I would go and unhook his foot he hasn't got it stuck for months I guess he learnt how to drop it so he wouldn't get caught up,I wouldn't do it this way in his cage just in case he got caught up and I couldn't rescue him,in his cage I hang from the roof only enough that he can hold and reach his beak so he cannot get caught up in it,he has a bucket of foot toys in cage as well that and up on the floor as well

Scout and Blue are adorable playing with their toys!

My poi's love foot toys. I got small stainless steel buckets from a bird store online (can't remember where) and filll those with foot toys. They love climbing in the buckets and pulling out the toys. They do end up on the bottom of the cage but I just put them back in at the end of the day unless they are soiled.

RavensGryf, Raven looks precious in his box!

Awww, I love the photos of Scout and Blue!

Raven is adorable in his Kleenex box!

The Laughing Parrot sells those buckets, you can order them empty or filled with toys. :)

This is not the prettiest foraging toy, but it's cheap and three of my birds love them. I designed it to teach my toy deprived re-homes to play. A package of lunch bags, a hole punch, some leather strips, shredded paper to stuff the bag and foot toys to hide inside and more to attach the bag to the cage. Sometimes they attack immediately and sometimes the bag will remain untouched for a couple of days.
