It really twists my britches in a knot (ouch) when ever I see for sale ads for birds whether it be on here, Craigslist, ebay classifieds or local newspapers where sellers list their beloved pet for re-homing and the only picture posted of their pet bird is of it sitting in a CAGE!

Then they seem to wonder why no one is seriously wanting their pet bird. To me this throws up a big red flag that this bird is unsocialized and not tame in the least. I would even venture to say they are breeder birds that the sellers are trying to pass off as pet birds.

I wished they would take the bird out of the cage and take pictures of it at least if nothing else but to show that the bird is manageable.

Really it's when I see the words "for sale" that the red flag goes up for me. People buy these birds and then think they should be able to get the same amount for them from the next owner, even though they probably have behavioral problems that need to be addressed and due to their neglect are not "worth" the same amount as when they were purchased as babies. At that point, they've had their fun with the bird, and really should just be asking for a modest re-homing fee for no other reason than to make sure the bird are going to a good home. And maybe paying for the cage. I haven't really seen any ads with photos though.

It ticks me off when people try to sell their birds and are like "Trade OBO" . Its like if u cant take care of that bird, what makes u think u can take care of another? -.-

I saw someone "selling" an amazon once and he was like "Or trade for a cuddly sun conure for my wife" I was thinking they'd probably un tame that one too -.-

If for some reason (God forbid) I had to rehome Bob to stangers through craigslist or something similar I would probably do it with a picture of him in his cage as it is nearly impossible to get him to sit still long enough to point a camera at him otherwise.
