You should have seen Rosie go after this meal. I had some Trader Joe's lime flavored tortillas and noticed she really goes after mine. So I made her one for dinner:

Used one tortilla and spread it with the following:

Green and red peppers
Few black beans
Some chopped almond pieces
Shaved carrots
Pumpkin seeds
Snow peas cut small

For added taste:

celery seeds
cinnamon and a Little bit of cayenne

The beauty of this is you can use whatever you have around the kitchen to feed your birds. I rolled it up tightly and sliced it in 4 pieces and she ate most all of it. What do you think??

I am convinced if I had given her these foods in a bowl she would not have eaten them.

That looks yummy...and so true, They would much rather eat out of one of our plates than their bowl...lol

Awwww she is adorable Spiritbird !
She is really enjoying her tortilla :)
What a great idea , you should patent the recipe and sell it along with the other
birdie recipes out there !

That looked delicious! Kayak would probably LOVE that. She'd tear it up and make a mess with it before actually eating it.

LOL, I make soft tacos, breakfast tacos, fajitas, etc. all the time and there is NO way you can eat if the birds are loose, never thought about a birdie taco!!

Great idea!!

I loved watching Rosie enjoying the Tortilla.
OMG she sure has a big appetite.
I agree they would rather eat off our plates than their bowls.
I have copied and recipe, going to give it a go soon.
Thanks for sharing the cute vid, and wonderful tasty recipe.

Anyone interested in the idea of a birdie tortilla can really ad lib on what you put inside. Next I am going to line the tortilla shell with the veggie mash I make for her. Dont want to give her one too often because then it will not be different. It is a good way for them to forage for food.
