Hi guys,

I was wondering, does anyone know if alexanderines are the kind of birds that would like thoes fluffy tents designed for birds? It doesnt have to be a tent. Just anything along thoes lines. for example tents, hamocks, beds of any kind that go in their cage.

I was going to make one for my alex, but am unsure if she would use it.:)

Our alex loves hers. She has always used it from the moment she came home. She sleeps in it every night and it is the first thing that gets packed when we are going on holidays.

You will just need to make sure that there are no threads that your baby can get caught in or that your baby does not chew on it and ingest the fibres. This can cause an onstruction in their crop if too much is ingested and it compacts.

Ps we love seeing photos of gorgeous Alex's. :D

I don't know about alex's, but my little sun conure loves his. He had one in his cage from his previous owner so I make sure he always has one. He is my only fid that uses one though. I did give one to Sassy, only because the first one I ordered for Cisco was the wrong size and way to big for him, so Sassy got it. She, however, paid no attention to it whatsoever and it ended up just taking up space in her cage. If you get one make sure you watch for chewing/loose threads. I debated on not replacing Cisco's but since he has always had one I decided to continue with it...I just check it daily.

It wouldn't hurt to try! Just be sure to keep an eye on her reaction and make sure she doesn't want to chew it up. Many bird use them to snuggle in, other look at them as a toy and that can be dangerous. Our bird has always used a tent without issue. He's quite fond of cozying up in it and looks most adorable doing so:D
